Combat Air Pollution With The Honda Egr Valve
By Anthony Fontanelle

Vehicles produced before the discovery of alternative fuels and creation of hybrid vehicles are among the leading culprits of air pollution. But these vehicles were not intended to cause harm to the environment—it’s just that their number has remarkably increased, thus giving way to greater amount of pollutants in the air. Unfortunately, your beloved car is one of those contributing to the eventual demise of the environment. But don’t worry too much about it as your vehicle’s toxic emissions are under control with a EGR Valve.

The EGR valve, which stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve, is one of the concrete steps taken by Japanese automaker to protect the environment. This exhaust component reduces the formation of nitrous oxides. Nitrogen oxide emission is formed because of very high engine combustion temperature (over 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit) so the EGR valve works by reducing combustion temperature. The EGR valve transmits part of the exhaust gas to the intake manifold and into the cylinders. This process lowers the combustion temperature and decreases

the amount of nitrous oxides generated. Obviously, you can expect that your vehicle does its share for cleaner air because of the reduced nitrous oxide emissions. This type of emission is converted to nitrogen oxide when mixed with oxygen. And when it is released to the environment and gets into contact with compounds like hydrocarbons, smog is produced.

So if you care enough for the environment, you better equip your car with a Honda EGR valve. This is one way to combat toxic emissions. EGR valves prevent formation of nitrous oxides, while catalytic converters complete the combustion of unburned fuel. Need an EGR valve now? Quality EGR valves can be purchased via our site—you won’t need to leave home to get one.
